Laura Pels Theatre stands by a proud tradition of supporting the arts and providing entertainment for the soul. To make sure that every visit is safe, enjoyable, and timeless, the venue has a set of rules and guidelines detailed below. Please read and review the following policies below as failure to abide by the following rules and policies may result in expulsion from the venue. Individual events and shows may have additional or altered rules, so please be sure to check your ticketed event guide or program for details.

Accessibility Policy

As part of its commitment to ensuring that everyone can enjoy high-quality theatre, Laura Pels Theatre offers the following Accessibility Accommodations. 

  • Restrooms

    Accessible restrooms are available on the orchestra level

  • Elevators

    Elevators bring you to every level in the building. The Elevator to the orchestra will leave you backstage, and to enter the mezzanine, you will have to use the lift. There is also an escalator that brings you from the second level to the main lobby of the theatre

  • Seating

    Four wheelchair-accessible seats available in the orchestra (P 105, 106, 107, 108), one in the mezzanine (CC 102, 106)

    Four transfer seats in the orchestra (F 1, 2 H 1, 2), and one in the mezzanine (CC1).

  • Hearing Devices

    The venue has a limited number of hearing devices and loops that can be requested. Guest services or event staff can help direct you. You will need a valid form of ID that will be returned at the end of the show with the return of the device.

  • Sign Interpreted Series

    Certain shows will have a special series intended for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Please call Hands-On at 212.740.3087(voice)—TTY callers use relay 711 for more information.

  • GalaPro App

    On-demand captioning and audio description will be available two ways, via a device that the customer can check out at the theatre or the GalaPro app on their smartphone. This feature is available several weeks post opening. Please inquire about audience services about the availability dates for specific productions.

Arrival Policy

Arriving late may result in guests being asked to wait in the lobby until a designated break period. To avoid frustration, Laura Pels Theatre recommends that you arrive no later than 30 minutes before a ticketed event to make sure you have plenty of time to find parking and get to your seat.

Bag Policy

Event staff reserves the right to inspect any bags for inspection. Guests have the right to refuse searches and event staff reserve the right to deny entry. Prohibited items that are not illegal may be returned to a guest’s vehicle or disposed of before entry.

Cancellation Policy

Laura Pels Theatre will make every effort to announce cancellations due to severe weather or artist cancellation as soon as possible. If your ticketed event is canceled, please call 212-719-1300 to ask about rescheduling or ticket refund procedures and policies.

Children Policy

Some shows or events may not be appropriate for younger children. Please refer to the event description or program guide for help in selecting the right events for your family. Please refer to the event description regarding whether younger children require their tickets. If you are not certain, you may call 212-719-1300 for help.

Also, if your child is disruptive during an event or show, they and their accompanying parent or guardian may be asked to wait in the lobby.

Food Policy

Outside food and drink are not allowed in the theater for most events and shows. Refreshments are available before the show opens and during intermission. If a show has a different policy, it will be explained in the program guide or description.

Lost and Found Policy

Lost an item at an event? You can ask event staff for help with finding the lost and found service. You can also call 212-719-9393 after the show. Please be prepared to leave your full name, contact information, and a detailed description of your lost item. Laura Pels Theatre does not claim responsibility for your lost possessions.

Prohibited Items

Laura Pels Theatre restricts certain items within the theater in the interests of safety and to preserve the atmosphere of enjoyment for other guests. While some events may vary, the following is relevant to most productions. Please contact Laura Pels Theatre at 212-719-1300 if you have any questions or refer to your ticketed event description and program.

  • Backpacks may be subject to search by event staff
  • Outside drinks, coolers, cans, cups, bottles, and beverages
  • Knives, guns, and any type of weapons or explosives
  • Professional cameras and recording equipment are usually not allowed during concerts and festivals
  • Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Laser pointers
  • Noisemakers, whistles and air horns
  • Illegal drugs or substances
  • Animals (except service animals)
  • Cigarettes, vapes, or other smoking paraphernalia may not be used within the venue or 20ft of entrances. Please call 212-719-1300 to ask about designated smoking areas.
  • Personal property or clothing that is a potential hazard to others (e.g. chains, wallet chains or jewelry with spiked edges)
  • Signs, clothing, or posters featuring offensive imagery or text
